Rose Metcalf is an English dancer from Dorset who was a crew member aboard the Costa Concordia when it ran aground off the island of Giglio on January 13, 2012, and one of the central voices of the Netflix documentary Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea (2026). On her first professional cruise contract, she stayed aboard the listing ship helping passengers evacuate and was among the very last people rescued, winched off by helicopter after signalling the aircraft with a flashlight.
Metcalf has spoken openly about the PTSD and survivor's guilt that followed. She later returned to performing and teaching, and now works as a dance teacher and life coach helping others move through trauma.
