She began her career as a child artist in Telugu cinema with films such as *Harathi* (1974), *Yashoda Krishna* (1975), and *Bhakta Kannappa* (1976), subsequently transitioning to supporting and character roles in adulthood.
In 1995, she received a National Film Award – Special Mention and the Nandi Special Jury Award for her leading performance in the Telugu drama *Stri*. Her other notable Telugu credits during her early and mid career include *Nyayam Kavali* (1981), *Nalugu Stambhalata* (1982), *Maga Maharaju* (1983), and *Dhruva Nakshatram* (1989). Alongside on-screen performances, she established an extensive career as a voice artist, dubbing for leading actresses in major South Indian productions.
