YELLOWSTONE'S 6666 SPINOFF: WHERE'D IT GO?
Taylor Sheridan's Dutton empire was supposed to keep growing — but the highly anticipated ranch drama has hit the brakes. Here's what happened.
The Yellowstone train seemed unstoppable! After the hit ranch drama premiered in 2018 and turned Kevin Costner's John Dutton into a household name, creator Taylor Sheridan had plans to expand the Dutton universe with a new spinoff called 6666. But eagle-eyed fans have noticed the project seems to have stalled out — and according to Us Weekly, there's actually a reason behind the delays.
While Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise continues to dominate, the 6666 spinoff — which would focus on the fictional Texas ranch and its own cast of characters — hasn't made it to air yet. The delays reportedly stem from production challenges and scheduling conflicts that have pushed the project's timeline back.
Still, sources suggest the spinoff hasn't been completely abandoned. Sheridan's Yellowstone universe is clearly still a priority for the network, with other projects in development alongside the main series. Fans will just have to patience a little longer before the 6666 ranch opens its gates!
