WEIRD AL SAYS NO WAY TO BIG AI CASH

The parody king turned down a lucrative commercial deal because he wouldn't become the face of artificial intelligence.

Even a legend of absurdist humor has his limits! Weird Al Yankovic revealed this week that he passed on appearing in an AI-focused software commercial—despite being offered what he called "a nice pile of money" for the gig. According to Variety, the offer came as Al was gearing up for a Syracuse, New York stop on his "Bigger & Weirder" tour, and he opened up about the decision to Syracuse.com.

So what made the man famous for turning "Eat It" and "Like a Surgeon" into instant classics say no? Al was crystal clear about his reasoning: "I can't be the poster boy for AI," he told the outlet. The accordion virtuoso wasn't about to lend his legendary name and face to become the public face of the tech trend—no matter how sweet the paycheck.

It's peak Weird Al logic, really. The guy built a four-decade career on being genuinely weird and staying true to his own weird vision. Turning down mountains of cash to protect his brand integrity? That's the kind of move only the Weird Master himself could pull off with a straight face.
