VENICE CLASSICS IS BACK WITH RESTORED MASTERPIECES!

The Venice Film Festival is rolling out a 19-title lineup of freshly restored cinema treasures—and some of the biggest names in film history are getting the treatment.

Talk about a dream lineup! According to Variety, Venice's Classics program is showcasing newly restored works from absolute legends: Andrej Wajda, Roberto Rossellini, Luis Buñuel, Roger Corman, John Cassavetes, and Ann Hui. We're talking serious cinematic gold here, folks.

Wajda's "Ashes and Diamonds," a postwar drama exploring political and social upheaval, is getting fresh eyes—and Martin Scorsese himself has called it one of his ten favorite films! Rossellini's "Journey to Italy" and Corman's cult classic "The Wild Angels" are also on the docket, along with Dev Benegal's "English, August." That's the kind of star power that makes film buffs lose their minds.

This is what restoration dreams are made of: lost cinema getting a second (or fifth!) life on the big screen at one of the world's most prestigious film festivals. Whether you're a classics devotee or just love discovering movies that shaped modern cinema, Venice Classics 2024 is calling your name. Time to dust off those film history books!
