The president just reported a cool $10.7 million payday from Amazon's First Lady documentary — and that's just his cut!
Talk about a family affair! According to Variety, President Donald Trump pocketed a $10.71 million licensing fee for Amazon MGM Studios' documentary "Melania," which he reported in his 2025 financial disclosure. That's a serious chunk of change for what amounts to rights to footage of the First Lady's life and story.
But here's where it gets wild — Amazon MGM apparently spent a FORTUNE on this project. The studio dropped $40 million just to acquire the documentary, then threw another $35 million at marketing to get eyeballs on it. That's a $75 million commitment right there!
While the Trump family's pockets got noticeably heavier, the doc itself pulled in about $16.6 million at the box office, per reports. Not exactly a blockbuster by Hollywood standards, but hey — somebody made out like a bandit. Guess that's what happens when you've got a story people want to hear!
