TOY STORY 5 RULES KOREA—BUT CHINA'S GOT OTHER PLANS

Pixar's blockbuster stays on top in Seoul while a historical epic steals the crown across the mainland.

Woody and Buzz aren't losing their grip on Korea just yet! According to Variety, Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 5" held steady at No. 1 at the South Korean box office over the June 26–28 weekend, pocketing a cool $3.3 million from nearly 503,000 admissions. The toy-box juggernaut is proving it's got serious staying power in the region.

Meanwhile, over in mainland China? A different story entirely. Variety reports that Bona Film Group's historical war epic "Crossing" came out swinging, debuting at the top spot with a massive $11.7 million opening weekend. The film, which commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Long March, has already racked up $12.8 million in its cumulative total—pushing "Toy Story 5" to second place on the China charts.

It's a tale of two box offices this weekend: Pixar's beloved sequel continues its victory lap in Korea, while China's audiences are getting swept up in epic historical drama. Both films are proving there's room for animated blockbusters AND prestige pictures at the international box office!
