MINIONS & MONSTERS TAKES OVER — AND THE STARS ARE SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE
Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, and Zoey Deutch spill on learning Minionese as the new animated film crushes the box office.

The Minions are BACK — and they're taking over! Illumination's "Minions & Monsters" hit theaters swinging with a massive $13.75M opening day at the U.S. box office (no previews included!), making it the clear box-office champ. The seventh installment in the Despicable Me/Minions juggernaut — which has raked in $5.6 BILLION globally — is proof that audiences can't get enough of those yellow troublemakers.
But here's where it gets FUN: the film's A-list cast — Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, and Zoey Deutch — got in on the Minion action by attempting to speak Minionese themselves! According to Variety, the stars showed off their skills in the goofy banana-loving language when discussing the movie. Spoiler alert: Minionese still isn't on Duolingo, so don't expect a fluency certificate anytime soon!
Directed by Pierre Coffin and produced by Chris Meledandri, "Minions & Monsters" is already proving it has serious staying power at the box office. With this kind of opening momentum and a cast clearly having a blast, expect this animated adventure to keep audiences laughing and the Minion empire growing stronger.
