LAST KIDS ON EARTH IS GOING LIVE-ACTION AT DISNEY!
The beloved book series is getting a fresh small-screen take — and Disney just greenlit a pilot to make it happen.
Hold onto your hats, adventure fans! Disney+ and Disney Channel have just ordered a pilot for a live-action adaptation of Max Brallier's mega-popular "Last Kids on Earth" book series, according to Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline. That means we're one step closer to seeing Jack Sullivan and his crew jump off the page and onto your screen!
The creative dream team behind this project includes James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash — the duo who co-created the hit series "Gotham Knights" — who are adapting the books for the small screen. Director Kevin Tancharoen, known for "The Book of Boba Fett," is helming the pilot, so you know this thing is going to look seriously slick.
Fans of the original Netflix animated series (which ran for three seasons and wrapped up in 2022) will definitely want to keep their eyes peeled for updates. A pilot order means Disney is testing the waters before committing to a full season — so this live-action version still has to prove itself, but with this stellar creative lineup, we're feeling pretty optimistic about the chances!
