JESSE EISENBERG PASSES ON ZUCKERBERG REDUX

The actor explains why he's sitting out Aaron Sorkin's 'Social Network' sequel—and it's all about moving forward.

Jesse Eisenberg just closed the book on Mark Zuckerberg! According to Variety, the actor turned down a chance to reprise his iconic Facebook-founder role in Aaron Sorkin's upcoming sequel, "The Social Reckoning." But don't expect any hard feelings—Eisenberg had nothing but praise for the legendary screenwriter.

"It's an honor to speak to Aaron in any capacity, because he's so articulate and charming and so bright," Eisenberg told Variety about the decision. The real reason for the pass? Life's taking him in fresh directions. "I'm moving in different directions in my life," he explained, keeping his cards close on what's next.

Eisenberg's 2010 turn as Zuckerberg earned him an Oscar nod and cemented his place in tech-drama history—so passing on a sequel is a pretty big move. But hey, sometimes lightning in a bottle is best left alone. We're curious what new chapter the talented actor has cooking!
