FRENCH FILM BOSS GILLES PÉLISSON LOCKS IN SECOND TERM
The ex-TF1 exec gets a unanimous vote to keep steering Unifrance—France's cultural export powerhouse—for three more years.
Gilles Pélisson is staying put! According to Variety, the veteran media exec has been unanimously reelected president of Unifrance, the French organization dedicated to promoting French film and TV around the globe. That means another three-year term at the helm for Pélisson, who previously ran TF1 Group before taking over Unifrance three years ago.
Pélisson's mission? Expanding France's entertainment footprint worldwide—and by all accounts, he's been crushing it. Variety reports he's been working hand-in-hand with Unifrance executive director Daniela Elstner to push the organization's global ambitions forward, and the unanimous reelection shows the organization's board is totally behind the duo's vision.
With French cinema and TV more relevant than ever on the streaming stage, Pélisson's got his work cut out for him—but this vote is a sign the industry has faith he's the right guy for the job!
