ELLE WOODS IS BACK—AND SHE'S IN HIGH SCHOOL!

Prime Video's bubbly Legally Blonde prequel proves the doubters wrong with a sparkly new spinoff that honors the franchise's legacy.

Move over, Harvard Law—Elle Woods is trading her law books for lockers! Prime Video just launched Elle, an eight-episode prequel series that follows the iconic character as a high school student, and according to Us Weekly, this candy-coated spinoff is a genuine winner. Newcomer Lexi Minetree steps into the role of young Elle, proving that you really can't judge a book by its pink cover—just like the original 2001 megahit taught us!

The debut is bittersweet for the cast, as they celebrate the show while mourning the absence of costar James Van Der Beek. The Dawson's Creek legend, who passed away in February at age 48, filmed what would become his final TV role for Elle before his death. Us Weekly reports the inaugural cast is honoring his memory as the series streams now.

And that's not all—Reese Witherspoon fans, rejoice! E! Online confirms that Legally Blonde 3 is still very much alive. Eight years after the threequel was first announced, the franchise is far from done with Elle's story. The movie may have taken its sweet time, but Hollywood's favorite pink-loving powerhouse isn't going anywhere!
