BOND CASTING CHIEF THROWS SHADE AT ELORDI, TURNER FOR 007 GIG
The franchise's legendary casting director says rumored frontrunners don't have the mystery the role demands.

Hold up, Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner fans—the woman who literally built the James Bond casting legacy just nixed you from her dream list! Debbie McWilliams, who spent four decades casting the 007 franchise from 1981's "For Your Eyes Only" all the way through 2021's "No Time to Die," told Variety that these young Hollywood names (plus Harris Dickinson) just don't cut it for the spy gig.
McWilliams's reason? We know them TOO well already. "We know so much about them," she explained, insisting the next Bond should arrive "out of the blue"—a total wildcard the audience hasn't already dissected on social media and streaming platforms. She's got a point: part of Bond's iconic allure is the enigma, baby!
With No Time to Die in the rearview mirror, the race for the tuxedo is officially ON—and it sounds like producers might be hunting for someone even the internet hasn't obsessed over yet. Fresh faces, take your shot!
