50 CENT'S NEXT BIG PLAY: STARZ ORDERS GRAPHIC NOVEL CRIME SERIES
The rap mogul is back with the network for a supernatural New Orleans crime drama based on the hit graphic novel Bone Parish.
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is cooking up his next TV empire—this time at Starz, where the hip-hop legend and producer is executive producing a brand-new series adaptation of the graphic novel Bone Parish, according to Variety and Deadline. The supernatural crime drama, based on Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf's comic, centers on the Winters family as they build a criminal operation around a mysterious, powerful new drug crafted from ashes in New Orleans. Dark, gritty, and totally 50 Cent's wheelhouse!
The powerhouse creative team behind the scenes is stacked: Diane Ademu-John (fresh off sci-fi epic Dune: Prophecy) and Declan de Barra (The Witcher: Blood Origin) will co-showrun and executive produce the project alongside Jackson. This marks another major collaboration between 50 and Starz, the network that's already home to some of his biggest hits.
Bone Parish has serious fan cred in the comic world, and bringing it to the small screen with this dream team could be the next must-watch crime series. With 50's track record for producing addictive, high-octane dramas, expect New Orleans to get very interesting very soon.
